Friends of the Evelyn Goldberg Briggs Memorial Library

The Friends of the Evelyn Goldberg Briggs Memorial Library is a non-profit organization committed to the advancement of library service in the Iron River area.
Friends of the Library provide financial and volunteer support of the library working as volunteer staff,
sponsoring programs and events for all ages, and raising funds for library materials not provided for in the regular library budget.

Since the library opened, Friends have been tenacious in their support.
Fundraisers have included dances, sales of T-shirts and sweatshirts, and semi-annual book sales.
In addition, Friends have sorted books, covered books destined for the library’s collection,
painted walls, washed windows, baked cookies, served pizza and soda,
and performed many tasks involved in running a successful library.

We encourage you to join us!

Volunteering benefits not only the library and the community, but the volunteer as well.  It gives you the chance to meet interesting people, to learn and use skills, and to experience the satisfaction that comes from being of service.
